What We Do
Based in Dublin, Mechatrons FX is the special effects division of Mechatrons Technologies Ltd. Our team combines long-standing film and television SFX experience with highly trained technical specialists from engineering and aerospace backgrounds. This breadth is built into how we approach a shot, from practical effects through to complex mechanical and technical solutions. We provide the full range of practical SFX required on set, while also designing and building the one-off gags, mechanisms and technical effects that do not exist off the shelf.
Our team has contributed practical and technical effects to productions including Vikings, Good Omens, Fate: The Winx Saga, In the Land of Saints and Sinners, Top Gear, Reign of Fire and Robot Wars, working from a dedicated Dublin workshop equipped for fabrication, electronics and mechanism testing.

Team & Workshop
Our team brings together experienced SFX practitioners and highly trained technical specialists, including people with PhDs and aircraft and aerospace engineering qualifications, alongside practical workshop, rigging and pyrotechnics expertise.
Mechatrons FX runs with a large in-house crew of technicians, engineers, riggers and workshop staff, big enough to resource multiple units and long shoot schedules without reaching outside the team for the essentials.
Every build is designed, fabricated, wired and tested at our Dublin workshop before it reaches a set, with a full risk assessment and safety plan agreed with production before anyone sets foot on location.
